Day 697's mystery bed

What do you know about this bed? I first spotted it in one of the farmhouse bedrooms at Blackberry Farm (photo by Granny Smith Green).

Then again, in a real estate listing in Beaufort, South Carolina.

And now here it is again from a post on Elements of Style on designer Linda Banks. I can't ever decide if I prefer a bed with wood posts or an upholstered headboard, and this is kind of the best of both worlds. And there is nailhead trim, to boot!

  1. Indeed; the best of both! I hadn't seen the bed before now. I think the last look is my favorite.

  4. Oh you know I love all things upholstered! =]

I believe that's the Lakehouse Bed from HW Home! I think the designers customized it for these rooms.

  7. Speaking of Bluffton, one of my favorites things to do when I'm bored and need some Lowcountry charm is tour the Palmetto Bluff Home and Cottage Rentals website-have you tried it? Highly recommend it!

Thank you for your wonderful blog! Love the peonies post, I bought mine the same day as you and just threw them out yesterday, ok, so maybe I kept them a few days too long!

  11. HI there,
The bed is an old american favorite. There is a place in Seeconk, Ma?? Leonards. Check out their website.
www.leonardsdirect.com . You will find reproductions as well as antique beds. My husband and I got lost in the place several years ago. It is wonderful.
I might be making this part up, but I think the Obama's White house bed came from there.
