Apologies for falling off the face of the earth last week. I was a little under the weather, and when I got
this news, I just couldn't quite bring myself to say anything at all. Maybe you know this, but I got my little start at
Southern Accents, and am just heartbroken at the loss of it, for myself, yes, but more for the lovely ladies there who were so kind to me.
But that's all I have to say about that. One bright spot in the week was
this interview with one of my favorites,
Steven Gambrel.
When I need inspiration, he is my go-to.
Where do you go for a good dose of "pretty?"
I thought about you last week when the news hit the wires. I'm so sorry for the loss of Southern Accents! I miss Cottage Living soso much as well.
ReplyDeleteAw, this terrible news - I look forward to Southern Accents each month in my mailbox. They've been so good to New Orleans over the years as well.
ReplyDeleteGosh - the shelter mag landscape looks so bleak. If only ad revenue could recover...
its so depressing...like cant they just stay around- the economy is going to get better and when it does we wont have anything to inspire us to spend our money on :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad about the fall of the magazine business! I think a lot of people who just look at pictures and articles online are going to be hugely disappointed when they realize that since they didn't purchase a subscription, they won't have access to the website anymore!!
ReplyDeleteAs far as where I go for a good dose of pretty-- right here to the Newlywed Diaries, dear! And to my client's house... man I love being in their house!
so sad for the magazine community and bham!
ReplyDeletei love amanda nisbet for a good dose of inspiration!

Oh no! I only discovered Southern Accents a year ago, but I've loved it ever since. It's a magazine that I'm really going to miss.
