Day 830's bath idea
This isn't really an option for our teeny-tiny bathrooms, but one day I've love to take a great piece of furniture and have it converted to a vanity. How great is this old file cabinet (from Coastal Living)?
And I love this little demilune table in Katie Denham's powder bath. For a small project like this, I'd check out the remnants of stone at my local Southeastern Salvage.
This little table lends a historical feeling to this bath. Small tables are in abundance at antique shops and flea markets. You could probably find a good deal on one with a damaged top.
I also love the idea of building a simple, custom vanity. It could be a great way to give some business to a local carpenter, or if you have a handy friend or relative, even better! (Photo courtesy of Anna Spiro)
The project could be as simple or as complicated as you'd like. (Photo from Blackberry Farm, courtesy of Granny Smith Green)
Hopping over to my favorite blogs, and what a nice surprise to see my little powder room!!! It is so kind of you to include it.
ReplyDeleteSo funny....I was just thinking of asking my handy husband to build me a table just like the vanity from Anne Spiro! Now I have a picture to show him. Thanks!! :)
That first pic from Coastal Living was the single inspiration for my friend's bath redo - she and her hubster are Craigslist fiends, so I can't wait to see what they find to function as a vanity.
ReplyDeleteI love all these versions, and would take any in a heartbeat!
fabulous post! the first vanity is one of my all time favorites {the faucets too!}.
ReplyDeleteAll of these pictures are SO LOVELY!
ReplyDeleteBut I am going to have to be the bearer of bad news. When I was living in NYC this summer, we had a beautiful bowl sink like your final picture in our bathroom. It was not functional at all!! I could usually wash my hands without major issues, but brushing my teeth was rough and washing my face always made a huge mess of water. But they sure are pretty!
I love all of these.
ReplyDeleteBut esp the first image.
I am swooning. I would love to replicate the first image one day.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the first picture, I think that is my favorite bathroom ever. Well, I also love Anna Spiros bathroom, the mismatched mirrors are great!
ReplyDeleteThe first is my favorite..love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love, love the first picture. I wish that could be my bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI like these a lot, and I'm totally kicking myself for not asking my handyman to make something like the last picture. How cool.
ReplyDeleteLove that old file cabinet! Really beautiful!
