Indulge me for a second, will you?

I never talk about fashion here, and certainly don't claim to be a fashionista by any means. Especially today. Do you ever look down at your outfit and think "what in the heck am I wearing?!" I had one of those moments today, which makes J.Crew's "new items added to the final sale!" e-mail especially tempting. Just for kicks here's what I wish I were putting in my shopping bag.

I sent half of my sweater drawer to the Goodwill this year and now it's a little bare. I love a good grandpa-slash-librarian sweater, especially when paired with a frilly top and pearls.

I have this skirt in black and have to agree, it is the perfect pencil skirt. Of course now I think I need it in 'cinnamon stick,' too. The socks with booties? Not so much.

I love simple dresses and try to save them for days when I can't come up with a complete outfit (today should have been a dress day!). Add black tights and black heels and done!

Part of my problem is that I never just wear a shirt. Seriously. I almost always have two items on top (I just realized this recently). Shirt and cardigan, shirt and vest, shirt and light jacket, shirt and vest and jacket -- I just can't help it, I love to layer. Off the top of my head I can think of at least five different ways I could wear this beautiful plum top (and this one, too). Any winter sale items tempting you these days?

  3. I like your taste. In fact I think you should go and purchase all those beauties from J Crew and then model them for us - actually I just want to live vicariously through you as we don't have J Crew here in Canada and it is pretty much one of my life goals to shop there one day.

  7. Just posted on my blog about a few things I bought after I had one of the same "what the heck am I wearing" moments. Those items happen to be JCrew :) Great minds ...

  8. Ugh, J. Crew. I love it so much. I've been pregnant for the majority of the past 2 years, and I'm so longing to be done in the baby-making department so I can shop somewhere other than Gap Maternity.

  9. When working in the corporate world- I always had those days. What in the world was I thinking when I got dressed this morning?

    I LOVE JCrew...

Haven't been too tempted lately since the belly is making an appearance. I'll stick to sale items at Gap maternity and splurge on some new, fun summer clothes once the baby arrives!

  10. I definitely think you should write about fashion more...it may make my wallet unhappy, but it makes me happy! And yes...I totally had one of those "what was I thinking when I dressed today?" moments the other day. I'm determined to wear my more feminine clothing more often this year...instead of always just jeans and a t-shirt! Fingers crossed....

I do love J Crew...but my heart belongs to Anthropologie. Sorry, J.

  12. I loved that sweater too and recently ordered it. Beware-it is super itchy. Even if you have something underneath, my neck itched. I loved the ruffled shirt too, but they ran out of my size. Darn you J Crew!
