I'm not really a crystal-chandelier type of girl. They're lovely, but I just don't see them in my house. However, when paired with a farm table or something equally casual, they are just right.
yes! yes! yes! i've been ooohing and aaahing over farmhouse tables and crystal chandeliers paired together for months now, waiting for the far-off day when we'll live somewhere worth having nice things. =) of course, by that time it'll probably have exploded on the decor world as a huge trend and won't be as unique as it is right now. oh well--it'll still make me happy. =) thank you for sharing those images!
I love a crystal chandelier when mixed with the farmhouse style or a sleek and modern style - it really takes away from it being so stuffy and uber traditional. Great images
I have a crystal chandi hanging in my laundry rm! The previous owners had a huge flourescent light, big enough to light up a football field. The room is also in the front of the house, so when the light was on it was way too bright from the outside! So, I found an older chandi at our local antique store and now it looks fabulous, inside and out! By the way, I love all your Birmingham ideas, I live in Fort Payne! Love your blog, Cara
I live in a city where Crystal and every other sort of chandelier is common as ordinary light bulbs.
I have chandeliers in almost every room, although the husband would not go for one in the bathroom and I am still sulking over that one.
I love Cara's idea ... if you can get past the old fashioned idea of a chandelier being Formal or Stuffy, you can find that they can be quite elegant and fun and show imagination.
Maybe I will blog all the lights in my home lol .. we picked them out, at flea markets and antique stores, months of searching for the perfect light.
oooooh... great contrast of casual and elegant! love it!
ReplyDeleteamazing post! =)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! I am in love with the third photo.
