Day 816: vintage lighting
Love all the vintage (and vintage-inspired) lighting in this Hudson Valley home, featured in Country Living.
These pendants remind me of the ones I spotted in a local shop last week (still love them!).
I just adore this one. It really makes the hallway special. Vintage industrial and commercial fixtures abound at architectural salvage shops, but you'll want to have them rewired before installation. If you're the industrious type, instructions aren't hard to come by.
If all of that sounds like a lot of trouble, there are plenty of reproductions available. Schoolhouse Electric makes some great ones.
I also love the idea of a wall-mounted swing-arm sconce in place of a lamp next to the bed. It's a great solution for small spaces that require small bedside tables, not to mention those who like to read in bed.

I love that entryway pendant!
I have the same light fixture in my entryway as the one in the third picture. Our entryway is quite large so to be honest it doesn't quite feel right. We'll see what happens though. It's another room that still needs to be refinished.
I really like those green vintage pendants!
I love the third image! I'm actually planning on buying schoolhouse electric fixtures this fall for the hallways and entryway in my home, so this is right up my alley.
Love that first picture with the mismatched dining set. Dreamy.
I love Schoolhouse Pendants. It was probably best that I didn't fall in love until we had our house pretty finished. That was probably best for the budget.
love them all!!! also so great to have all that space on the nightstand with the swingarm...
Jennifer! Great minds think alike! I thought this issue of Country Living was wonderful too... what a beautiful home and I love the farmhouse style lighting... xx, Kelly
you had me at 'vintage lighting'...the images are a bonus! love the post.
Two great companies. I have used them both. They also have very good pricing. Green pendants are just the right color.
I'm seriously in hate with my dining room fixture right now. NEED a new one. Those are fabulous!
I can't even pick a favorite... they are all so great.
I spy, soapstone countertops. Love those.
