Day 703's inspiring spaces
Sometimes even the most attainable-looking rooms published in the most attainable-feeling magazines aren't what they seem. Often they're filled with fine antiques, to-the-trade only fabrics, and accessories with price tags that would make your eyes pop out. Or maybe that's just me.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love an interior done to the nines as much as the next person, but what I love more (much, much more) is an interior done by a real person, with a real budget.
Especially if they have great taste, and maybe even access to a really, really great little thing or two to put next to a lamp found at a thrift store.
Such is the case with this little gem, home of Style Director Michael Penney, published in Canadian House & Home (courtesy of Erin at Elements of Style).
Every time I look, there is more to love. And -- even better -- there is that thought in the back of my head that, "hey, I could do that."
Ooohhh... I totally agree - I actually feel as if I can accomplish this : - ) Forget the gilded finishes and miles of marble, I'm all for ideas that I can actually put to use!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I adore it all, but that kitchen really has caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteI want to live in this house.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun space. And I am with you- I LOVE fabulous interiors- but what I really love is when it's done on a budget. It's great when something seems attainable to me!
ReplyDeleteI could move right in this home. Think the homeowners would mind? I love it so much I have ordered a subscription to Canadian House and Home.
ReplyDeleteMe again..I have nominated you for a Splash Award. Check out my blog Wed am for details
ReplyDeleteReal life happens in most houses. Most people love to dream, but the same group loves finding a creative solution at a great price.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it inspiring to have so many options at our fingertips? I am happy.
WOW, love it...i am with you, i love to see how "real" people live...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spaces! I just love the colors, so serene.
