Day 949: thinking of an upgrade
This blue chest is in our dining room. It was free and so was the blue paint on it (Benjamin Moore Stratton Blue). I spent a tiny bit of money on these white ceramic knobs the day before we had houseguests for the weekend. (Am I the only one who makes those kinds of purchases?) I didn't love them, but I didn't mind them either until ...
... My friend Zoe sent me this photo (from the Circa Interiors -- a great shop in Birmingham and Charlotte -- blog) saying "I know you'll love this!" And darn it she was right and now I want to put a glaze on my blue chest and upgrade the hardware. Don't you hate when that happens? Here are a few I'm thinking about ...

I love your blue chest. Maybe that glazing could be a fun little project!
I love the glaze - absolutley GO FOR IT! And the hardware is a must, you found perfect choices. Can't wait to see if you do it!
Love your whole home ~
Sarah
I really like the first and second pulls!
I also do not mind the way the chest looks now, but it's not mine, it's yours. What your friend sent you is very adorable though. I say, do it!
this is exactly what we sis to ours. We started with stratton blue then wiped a mahogany stain over it with a rag then wiped till we were happy. It stays sticky for a few days, but then its perfect. Also stain is much cheaper that glaze:)
Hi Jennifer! Just letting you know that you are going to be featured today on Better After! The post will go up this afternoon. Thanks again!
I like the second and third one! Although I think the chest is really cute now too, and the knobs pop with the white chairs.
go for it!! it will look fabulous!!
yes, i see what you mean. but i really like it the way it is, too.
(love the first handle, by the way.)

I would love to do this with a chest that I have. Just wondering, what kind of glaze do you use? There are so many at lowes its hard to know which one will get the desired effect. Thanks!
Go for it. It will look great!
do it...I like the first pulls
I love the glaze! I think it'll look great!
I really like the first handles, I think they would look great!
I love that glaze too and can see how it is so very you! And those handles are all amazing, what a decision!
xx
I JUST finished antiquing (using a brass aging product)a brass candle sconce. I love the look of aged brass - classic! Whenever I've replaced hardware, I order several choices! It makes it easier to decide. There is that added cost of shipping the returned ones, but I think it's worth it considering how much you'll spend on the hardware. Can't wait to see what you do! xoTrina
I like the idea of freshing things up. :) It keeps life interesting and lively! My faves are the 2nd and 3rd choices....I say go get 'em!
yummy! of course i love the before, too.
Hi! I am here from Better After, I noticed that you said that you are in central AL, we live in Huntsville. Love the house, it is very southern and reminds me of home in TN. I am a new follower too. Take care!!! :D
I can't wait to see how it looks. Of course I like it now but it's going to be even more fabulous when your done with it.
Can I vote for hardware #2. Love. It.
I like hardware #2 as well but I really do love the way it looks now but I can relate to wanting to change it. I'm sure it will look great!
I like the third to last one and the last one. Really, you can't go wrong with any of them. So pretty.
oh yes!!!! love the thought of this!! (even though it's already beautiful)
xoxo
I thought this cabinet pull was a pretty neat pull that might work on a rustic/distressed piece and add a little contemporary country feel.
